Will Bachinski
I’m Will Bachinski, a master’s-level clinician with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Villanova University. Before graduate school, I studied social history, religion, and film at Davidson College and spent time teaching English in China.
During my graduate training, I worked in both dual diagnosis group settings and individual therapy, and I now lead Sanare’s Adult Mental Health IOP program in Raleigh, North Carolina. I have experience working with clients ranging from young adults to older adults on a wide variety of topics, helping them explore the deeper questions that shape their lives.
My work is rooted in a psychodynamic perspective, focusing on how early experiences, defense mechanisms, and unconscious patterns influence the way we think, feel, and relate to others. I also draw from dialectical behavior therapy to support emotional regulation and distress tolerance, creating balance between reflection and practical action. I believe mental health is an inherently relational process, and together we examine how past and present relationships shape your experience of the world.
In group, I often incorporate mindfulness, improvisation, and storytelling to help clients stay grounded and engaged in the here and now.
Outside of counseling, I love watching movies, listening to records, and spending time with my cat, Professor Pancakes. I also enjoy reading comics, playing tabletop games with friends, experimenting with home recording projects, and trying to master whatever new recipe I find on YouTube.
