Candace Hicks
I’m Candace, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, where I specialized in trauma and crisis work. I have spent the past ten years supporting people through community programs, psychosocial rehabilitation, and On-the-Go therapy services.
My approach is eclectic and creative. I use brainspotting, solution-focused therapy, positive psychology, and client-centered techniques to help clients move through grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I also bring my background in Spiritual Christian Counseling into the work when it fits a client’s values.
I especially enjoy working with children and teens who are learning to adjust to new or difficult seasons. I believe growth happens when therapy feels real and personal, so I often integrate interests like anime, gaming, and storytelling to help clients express themselves in ways that feel natural.
Outside of sessions, you will usually find me cosplaying, cooking, or spending time with my family.
